ABOUT MJ NOBLE
MJ Noble is a Los Angeles-based producer, singer, and multi-instrumentalist who makes Drum & Bass like it comes from another realm entirely. Her music is steeped in fantasy and allegory, with a live presence that's impossible to ignore.
Her third studio album, Songs From My Castle Tower (Doom Trip Records), earned Bandcamp's Album of the Day, with Bandcamp writing MJ "rockets into hyperspace, offsetting tense breakbeats with climactic melodies." The Wire wrote: "Noble's flute is a defining voice in all her music... her production is sleek but complex, with timewarping rhythmic elements that lend conviction to her lyrical themes; Noble is becoming something of an auteur."
Live, she occupies a space entirely her own, something rarely seen in the DnB world: performing her original songs while simultaneously DJing, singing, and playing flute, moving between technical mixing, transforming other producers' tracks with live improvisation, and moments that feel genuinely unscripted. Her sets move through worlds; ethereal and liquid one moment, dark and percussive the next, with a theatrical command that makes the whole journey feel intentional.
She's brought her sound live to Lightning in a Bottle, Lucidity, Stilldream, Hydrophonic, Baldur's Rave, The Church in Denver, Love Long Beach, and beyond. And if you catch her on livestream, buckle up, you may experince four to six hours of freeform DJing, live improvisation, and songs conjured entirely on the spot.
